![]() Discord has become, arguably, the most popular chat service for online gaming, but it alienates many players in the Among Us community. This may be a problem without an easy solution. To truly make this issue go away, the game would have to have its own integrated voice chat. Another solution would be updating Among Us' in-game chat service, but that isn't a guaranteed fix as typing on a keyboard would still be more convenient than typing on a sideways mobile device. It's hard to imagine players who use mobile devices would be happy about not being able to play with their PC gamer friends any longer. It isn't anyone's fault for choosing Discord over Among Us' in-game chat, and it will always be much easier to type on a keyboard rather than a mobile device. Removing the cross-platform aspect of the game would fix the problem to an extent, but it would also segment the community. This is somewhat of a tricky issue to fix because it's all a matter of convention. It makes the game impossible for anyone else to win. And it kills the fun of the game when a group of players work together in cahoots behind everyone's back. The mobile gamer won't be able to communicate with the rest of the players because they're communicating outside of Among Us through Discord, so they're just left out. This puts any mobile gamer who might end up in their lobby in a bad position. Many PC gamers will play Among Us using a Discord server to chat with friends in-game, but not through the game. None of this works if players can't communicate, and that's the issue with Discord. ![]() Players will try to work together, but others will lie and deceive to keep their identity a secret. As players begin to die, interrogation takes over, as players use the in-game chat to question each other in order to get a sense of who might be the murderer. The major issue with this, however, is Among Us is a cross-platform game, meaning mobile gamers and PC gamers can end up in the same game together.
